Osseodensification

What is Osseodensification?

Osseo-Densification represents a paradigm shift in technology to improve bone quality. Denser bone equals stronger bone. Traditional drills used in the placement of dental implants by their very nature extract bone to establish a space into which an implant is then placed. When faced with a potential implant site with poor (reduced density) bone quality, the process of removing bone does not improve the quality of the surrounding bone.

Osseo-Densification preserves existing bone through the process a hydraulic expansion (plastic deformation) of the existing jawbone. The net effect is a strengthening (densification) of the jawbone thereby improving the foundation to best support a dental implant.

The process of expanding and densifying the surrounding jawbone is generally performed concurrent with the creation of a space for dental implant placement. Osseo-Densification can however be performed as a standalone procedure to prepare a site for dental implant placement in future. Whenever possible, it is Dr. Novack’s desire to limit numbers of surgeries, post operative morbidity and cost while expediting completion of patient care.

Why use Osseodensification?

Whenever possible, it is Dr. Novack’s desire to limit numbers of surgeries, post operative morbidity and cost while expediting completion of patient care. Osseo-Densification is symmetric with these goals. The atraumatic creation of a more solid jawbone (densified) foundation while improving implant predictability are hallmarks of this technology.

Throughout Dr. Novack’s professional career, he has and continues to incorporate science-based technologies that focus on improved patient outcomes while reducing cost and treatment time. These factors combine to make Osseo-Densification a valuable protocol that serves to separate our practice from other specialty offices.

We encourage you to contact the office for a consultation appointment. You will then be best able to discern firsthand how Dr. Novack’s patient centric approach to your care can provide the best possible treatment results while remaining sensitive to your unique issues and financial circumstances.
