Periodontal Health through Nutrition
To assist our patients achieve an optimal periodontal treatment result, Dr. Novack has provided the following important nutritional information. It has been demonstrated that nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining and restoring tissue integrity, wound healing, bone metabolism and resistance to infection. This is especially crucial following oral-periodontal surgery. In consultation with a registered dietitian who has investigated the role of nutrition and the specific requirements for optimum periodontal healing, a dietary plan has been prepared for our patients. Those nutrients which directly influence periodontal healing are listed in the chart below.
